THE GOBBELDY GOOKER

This happened on November 1990, with Survivor Series only weeks away, the WWF decides to show a big egg at every show, promising a surprise at the PPV. The wrestling world was at buzz with many theories on what it might be. An impressive new wrestler? A promising superstar? Well, whatever it is , it will be great, it got to be. |
| So the big day finally arrived when the egg would hatch, and everyone was on the edge of their seats in anticipation. Soon our egg began to rumble and crack. Here it comes , it's ..its....it's......... |
| What ???? …The "BIG SURPRISE" was some poor fool dressed in a ridiculous turkey costume! Everyone who saw this at the arena or on TV were obviously stunned. Sure , there were no guarantee it would be good , but they were also not expecting it to be this bad either .Upon the unveiling the crowd gasps (not a sound in the arena). Then the angry crowd booed, for they felt cheated by the whole thing. But really, how did Vince McMahon and his bookers expect the fans to react? Did he want the crowd to high five each other while screaming and shouting "YES, IT'S SOME GUY IN A TURKEY COSTUME, YIPEE"! (I think not). |

| The crowd were then forced to listen to the turkey ,now known as The Gobbledy-Gooker , as it talk complete nonsense during the whole interview period. By this time ,it was clear the whole thing was a disaster but obviously Mean Gean and Gooker have to finish the whole segment , as they could not afford to let Vince McMahon down. Gooker led Mean Gean to the ring and then the unthinkable happened , they began to dance !!!The Gooker hops and skips, jigs and shuffles ,with Mean Gean following suit .After about three disturbing minutes of dancing , they mercifully stopped , and the Gooker was never seen again. |

Not really ....because the Gobbledy-Gooker made a return at Wrestlemania 17 competing in the Gimmick Battle Royal .It was however obvious that it was not the same Gooker as the costume was different. It doesn't surprise anyone if Vince McMahon burned the old costume !!!!! |
